Back in business

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 14, 2009, 3:24 PM
well, it's been a while since I've had any activity. I know because I have double digit messages. that's new for me!

well, I'm in school, moved to a new place, and had no furniture for a while. now I have a desk, and a replacement tablet for one I lost. I still have loads of schoolwork right now, but now that I'm all settled, I can continue work on my project.

also, I should be getting the Megaman classic complete works soon. It was supposed to ship in october, but has been since delayed... but It'll definitely help me with my character designs!^^

but I'm back guys, won't upload anything too soon, but expect more art in the near future!^^

Also, just to help out, I've collected all the tutorials or practice sketches of other artists that I found helpful.

Mega Man Project

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 30, 2009, 9:02 AM
Well, after working on the failed Mega Man PC remake project, I decided to make a Mega Man game myself.
I stopped working on the project because I didn't agree with where the game was going, I didn't simply want to make an exact replica, I wanted to completely remake the game into something marvelous.

So now I'm just going to try to make my own game that will be about 90% original. Like the previous project, I'm using game maker.

Right now, I'm learning game maker, drawing the characters and sprites, and learning how to make NES music.
I'm not really all too musically talented, so that part of the game may suck.

If anyone has any tips or tutorials for either Game maker pro 7 (I'm trying to avoid using the click and create system as much as possible) or FL studio, I'm all ears.

Also, just to help out, I've collected all the tutorials or practice sketches of other artists that I found helpful.

Need help?

well, I'm working on a very time consuming group pic right now that I should be done with within the week...

I always wondered why it takes many artists about 2 hours to finished an amazing and complicated piece when it takes me 2 days to finish a mediocre one... and I realized something, something very apparent while working on this pic... I'm still just learning how to draw... and I'm teaching myself while actually drawing... these people have had loads of practice and perfected their art, that's why they're so fast... they already know what they're doing... I come up with a pose then struggle to try to achieve my vision...

well.. with this pic alone, I've improved a lot.. but I didn't do it alone... I have the many skilled artists on DA who created excellent tutorials to thank for a lot that I've learned... those tutorials sure do come in handy...

but it's really hard to find helpful tutorials amidst the plethora of useless ones. not that they're not good tutorials, they just weren't what I was looking for... a lot of anthro stuff makes it difficult to find normal leg, arm, and other body part tutorials...

but to make things easier for any other beginners, I've collected all the tutorials or practice sketches of other artists that I found helpful.

I just can't get over it.... I haven't been able to finish a single serious sketch in the last 3 months.... so many wasted pages!

I just want to smash my hand against a wall....
why won't it do what I want it to do?
